Hey y'all, how you doing?
I am actually doing pretty well. I have had a bit of a rough day or so. A very dear friend passed away and I have struggled with that. The usual thing for nights like this has always been to eat ice cream, fruit, crackers and butter, peanut butter sandwiches, potato chips. In other words ... junk food. Believe me, it would have been very possible to go back there. Not as easy as before, but possible. Heck, I even looked through foods I do eat now and thought, what would it hurt, I could mark them down as snacks and just go on. But I couldn't. Thank you to the coaches and staff at Southern Indiana Wellness for the training you have given me and for holding me accountable to you and myself. Tonight I chopped, sliced, diced, and packed up portions for meals to come. Now that is a change I could not have done without help. Even though Kate is doing the program and you are all watching out for me (and her) and there is great support from the Southern Indiana Wellness family. It still is an individual task and sometimes I just want to go crazy and eat and stuff myself with everything I shouldn't. I've been there before and caved in. But not now, there is to much at stake. My health, my life, my wife and family. Thanks for your prayers and kind words. They mean so much. Now, it is only a few days until we begin round 2 phase 2 fat burning stage and that is exciting. There is more resolve, more determination, and more understanding about what is being accomplished through our association with Southern Indiana Wellness. Thanks for allowing me to vent a bit and get my head and heart back in line. You can get the same kind of support and results, but you have to make the first step. Call Southern Indiana Wellness at 812-333-2440 and schedule a consult to learn just what you need to do. Believe me, it WILL change your life. God bless! Hey, the Big Guy here.
I can't believe the differences we have seen in the past 80 days. Well, I guess that is an untruth since I have lived those changes. Still, from 505.2 to 444.6 seems surreal. The loss of weight I have experienced before but the health changes are unprecedented for me. For example, blood sugars have dramatically dropped, blood pressures are where they should be, I've even had change in my eyesight (remarkable!) and my mobility is much better. My will to live and be productive - restored.... so much change. Listen, I thought these program people were just selling their product, but that has proven to NOT be the case. I figured they would do the 20 pound thing and say "We got you to the guaranteed loss, now bug off." Not true. I have told you everything along the way and will continue to do so. Several of you have signed on to the program because you know me and see the changes. That is fantastic because I want people to understand that better health is attainable with the right leaders and education. I try not to look at the food I "can't eat anymore" because I can eat them if I want ... I just now know what the consequences are and can make a rational decision as to what is important to me... My health and life or my wants and poor health. So, next Tuesday it is round 2 of phase 2... our fat burning, lose weight phase. It should be easier the second time around, and technically it probably will, but I still have guidelines to follow and goals to meet. So I need your prayers and encouragement and even to set me straight some of the time. All I ask in return is that you look at your situation. You are worth keeping here. God bless my friends and be healthy! We are almost to the end of week three of phase 4. It has been the most frustrating, most difficult phase so far. I have been frustrated, ticked off, discouraged, felt fat again and proven wrong so many times by the "system"... ahhh, therein lies the true meaning of trust. Remember, it doesn't have to make sense, it just has to work. As we wind down here and prepare for the 5th adventure of this new life journey, we do so with a "new track record." 448.4 ... -1.8 from my set weight of 450.2. That gives me a minus 56.8 lbs from my official start weight of 505.2 and 61.8 lbs from my first meeting weight of 510.2 (first meeting with Southern Indiana Wellness). Yes, I am anxious for round 2 phase 2, but I will follow the proven path and continue to reap the benefits. I think back to the many days of this wellness trip. We, Kate and I, have felt run through the gauntlet, been through the ringer, been on incredible highs (and lows), we have been well coached, encouraged and chastised until we were ready to scream. The real kicker is that we have never been led astray. The biggest thing is trying to unlearn so much "logical" thought we have digested through the years. Now there is excitement as we approach round two of weight loss with a better understanding of what is in store for us. Bring it on, we are ready! You can experience this same type of life saving journey that I am on too. There is a free dinner and program presentation on Monday August 28 at 6:30 pm at the Limestone Cafe in downtown Bedford. A phone call to 812-333-2440 or a visit to southernindianawellness.com to register for this event will give you insight into this special wellness program. Please, sign-up today! A new life is that close... Good morning! Yes, I am up early (since 4am). Sometimes my legs don't cooperate with when I want to sleep. So the British Open provides a good distraction.
So, since I am up, I might as well hit the scale and see how it goes. A little reflection as I near the end of Phase 2... I was reviewing back to the first day I met Eli and Dr. Frank and heard about the program ... June 6th. Although our official start was June 12th, I made note of my weight on the 6th... 510 pounds ... and my morning sugar was 150. The start of our actual journey was the 12th and the weight was 505.2 and the morning sugar was 178. Now, 40 days later, I begin the day with a morning sugar of 78 and a weight of 456.6 ... an official total of minus 48.6 ... going back to the very first day I learned of the program, those numbers go to 46 days and a loss of 53.4. I can hardly believe what has transpired in this short amount of time. I am not out of the woods yet, health wise, but I have found the right road to follow to get me there. That first meeting day I had every intention of saying no to this "diet" but found out it is a "life change" program. You can do the same thing if you really want it. If I (actually we, Kate and I) hadn't taken the time to listen to the process, there is no way I am enjoying the things I do today. I urge you to take a chance, stand up for yourself, listen to what you CAN become ... call 812-333-2440 or go to southernindianawellness.com and check it out ... please make a choice for a better life! God bless. - Johnny E. Henderson Wow, so much has gone on since my last writing. I apologize for getting caught up in so much I just spaced the blog. Now, with that in mind, let's see if I can catch up a bit.
Since the last visit I have undergone many changes and some significant milestones. First, I had three days where I gained weight and believe me I did NOT want to report in to my coach or to you following along. However, I promised to be open and honest. So, while those gain days were disappointing, I discovered my body was changing. My waist underwent a shrinkage evidenced by 4 new belt notches needed to keep my pants up. I also was able to wear pants and shirts I hadn't worn in around two years. Secondly, my blood sugars dropped dramatically, in fact, so much that I had some low-sugar incidents. This prompted a visit the the diabetes clinic where my dosages were reduced, then even reduced more, and finally one shot will no longer be taken. My readings have been near perfect since. Thirdly, I have been able to do something I could not do for at least two years - I actually tied my own shoes!!! Kate had done so for me and we even left them tied and slipped on without redoing them. In truth, I had worn slip-on shoes almost exclusively. Fourth, I have had fun and am feeling great. I can walk further, stand longer, sleep better, see better, and have been able to present my Sunday messages at Church while standing at the pulpit instead of from a chair. I can't really put in words the whole experience... I have a luster for life that was almost completely gone AND have lost almost 50 pounds. Listen, YOU can change your life also. Consider how important it is to you to be healthy and slimmer. We believe in this program so much that my Mom is now joining us on this journey. Check the website at southernindianawellness.com and call the office at 812-333-2440. You are worth the effort. God bless all ... keep up on Superoldies 105.5 FM and 1340 WBIW-AM at 9:00 am Monday through Friday. Hey there! The Big Guy here... I must say this has been a whirlwind 31 days on my wellness journey. I am living it but sometimes feel like I am watching a video game. Changes have happened so quickly that what surprises me one day does the same thing the next. I am learning to expect nothing because I shortchange the true experience. The weight fluctuates with losses in pounds some days and ounces others ... to be honest, if the weight was my only measuring stick, I might be discouraged. BUT, so many other things are changing, the weight is almost, and I mean almost, secondary.
Do you know how it feels to be able to button your collar for the first time in over a year?... To be able to actually wear those brand news pants you outgrew the day they arrived in the mail?... To be able to wear tie shoes for the first time in over 9 months, to test your blood sugar and be nowhere near 200 and actually have the numbers lowered on your dosages, to walk from the car to a store without needing to sit down, to fall asleep in that new recliner without lugging your bi-pap machine from the bedroom? These are the changes that are happening to me that outweigh the weight loss for me. The cause and effect factor resulting in better health is unbelievable. I have heard people say I am only a puppet trying to help sell this product and am no better than a talking stooge ... I could do that ... but I WILL NOT. I have my wife and my Mother on the program because it is changing our lives for the better AND teaching us how to continue to get, and stay, better. Let me encourage you to look on the website -southerindianawellness.com for the next free dinner and forum on the program. Then come... it is a free, no obligation meal and information opportunity for you. Take advantage of the free consult and body mass analysis and then look at where you are. Your health can either get better as mine is or deteriorate as mine was! I have found I would rather live a full, fun life than wait around to die. I am nearing the end of the 2nd phase of the program and can hardly wait for what is ahead for me. Stay tuned, you are welcome to ride along. .. or, even better, why not join the ride yourself... loving life, I am waiting for you! God bless my friends. -The Big Guy Johnny Henderson Hello my friends! Well, things are going good on the weight loss. I am near 35 pounds gone and am under 470 pounds for the first time in I don't know how long...literally. Did not own a scale to measure and doctor's scales didn't go over 400. The real changes are in how I feel. You have read how my legs, blood pressure, my sugars, breathing, even my eyesight are better.
I really want YOU to listen to want I am saying, please. This could be YOU! Lets be honest, I am not the only person out of health, out of shape, cutting my life short. I was trying to give up. I had resigned myself to sitting home or if I did get out I was going to need a chair. Thank God I have Kate, who, without nagging or pushing, refused to let me give up. I don't like being told I am fat, slow, slow, lazy, unhealthy, etc. Any more than you do. I did not want to buy plastic food and do treadmills that I hate. Guess what? The solution came looking for me and because of my wife, friends, and God's grace I am getting control of my life. If you have no one else that can tell you the truth...let me. YOU CAN change, you CAN have a life with your spouse, your children, your grandchildren, your friends, and family. YOU CAN choose to or not to. Sunday night, July 9th at 5:30pm there will be a FREE dinner plus a FREE forum telling you how I am getting healthier. Dr. Frank Bowling has graciously given his valuable time to offer us a meal, an educational moment, even a FREE consultation and body mass analysis. All you have do is make a phone call or go online and say, "I am coming." One more time, let me beg you to give yourself a chance. Register by calling Southern Indiana Wellness at (812) 333-2440 or go online at southernindianawellness.com. Sunday July 9th at 5:30 p.m. at the Orleans Wesleyan Church Fellowship Hall. Please come!!! -Johnny Hey Friends! We are now into the third week of our wellness quest through Southern Indiana Wellness. It has been spectacular. You make it special... your encouragement and love life us up. You know there has not really been any DOWN days but sometimes it isn't that over-the-top feeling. Your comments and prayers bring me back to reality. I remember some of the emotional changes as I "grew" and they were not all good. Now as I reverse the process, I revisit them. The difference is I know improvement in my health is happening, not deterioration. I used to love to love to cook (my Dad is an awesome cook and it kept me close to his memory). But, cooking has been very little of my life anymore. Now, I can enjoy it again because I can appreciate the process and the result.
This program has awakened my joy again. There is work to do, but my coaches at Southern Indiana Wellness, Kate, my family, and the many friends- old and new - I KNOW I can do this and improve my life. Thank you all so much for helping me remember why life is great! God Bless! By the way, Kate and I are looking forward to seeing many of you at the FREE DINNER and presentation about the program on Sunday July, 9th at 5:30 p.m. at the Orleans Wesleyan Church Fellowship Hall. Remember to register by calling the office at (812) 333-2440 or online at southernindianawellness.com. See you there! -Johnny Well, now I understand what a busy week with this wellness program is like! I have appointments to go to, am working full time, having dress rehearsals and a show for three nights, as well as the everyday things that need to be done at home. Whew! Through it all, we have been able to keep up with the planning and preparation of meals. This is great! It has shown me that no matter how busy I may be, I can always take time for me, and it is important that I do so! My coach has been watching me closely, and he has made adjustments to some of my supplements and water amounts, but I am still losing weight as well as feeling good and healthy. Johnny has been doing most of the cooking this week…thanks, honey!!! I have kept up the work of dishing out the liquid supplements, and helping with menus. It has worked out pretty good this way! Even though we are spending more money at the grocery store for meal items, we have realized that our food budget is down because we are not eating out any more. Johnny and I were amazed the other night that what we spent on several meats is what we would have typically spent on one meal at a restaurant. The thing is that we wouldn’t have even thought a thing about it either. I thought when we began this that there wouldn’t be enough to eat. WRONG!! There are some days that it is all I can do to be sure to eat as much as necessary for the program to work. WOW! Eating enough and still loosing weight. That’s a first for me! Speaking of weight…as of today, I have lost a total of 12.2 pounds. Twelve plus pounds of unhealthy, limiting my life, taking my joy, aching my bones, worthless pounds. Gone! I am blessed. Thank you, Lord! I can’t wait to see what the next few weeks will bring. I have reached some milestones already. I am able to bend over and tie my shoes without feeling as if I am going to pass out. I have tried on several lower size clothes, and they fit! They aren’t snug either. I mean they really fit! Lol! My rings are starting to spin on my fingers, and I have to switch to a different finger. I hope to be able to wear my original wedding ring set before this is done! That would be wonderful!! I would like to end by saying NEVER think it is too late to lose weight, because it isn’t. Realize that your life is worth every day that you can take, and it is so worth it. Be good to yourself and check it out. I highly recommend the Southern Indiana Wellness Weight Loss Program where they deal with getting you healthy first, and then deal with the weight. Check out southernindianawellness.com. Remember, there is hope! Jeremiah 29:11….”I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Indeed He does. -Kate Another few days have really meant some changes. The weight is to 489... over 16 pounds gone. That is the big benchmark, the weight. However, there are so many changes going on with my body and systems. I breathe better, my blood pressure is down, my blood sugar is steadily at the low end in my ideal numbers, I have worn clothes that I could not wear in a YEAR, swelling is down in my ankles, feet and legs. I am just feeling much better. Well, there is that padding missing from my backside that reminds me how hard some chairs are!! I hope this journey makes YOU aware of the need to get yourself in better shape. I have no doubt that if Southern Indiana Wellness hadn't got my attention, I would be on oxygen and quite possibly in a mobility chair. Now I have hope. Hope my breathing will continue to improve, hope that I will once again be able to walk with my wife, hope that I can go to a concert-ballgame-movie-or even a friends house and not have to check for steps or for a chair that is big enough and strong enough to hold me. I have hope that I will once again be able to share God's Word while standing behind the pulpit, not sitting in a chair.
Yes, it is about weight loss but even more it is about having a quality life, a healthy life, and a longer life. Please, if this reaches anyone who has or wants to up... Contact Southern Indiana Wellness at (812) 333-2440 or check the website at SouthernIndianaWellness.com. Look for when and where the free dinners and forums are being held.
